Aims of the Workshop

Building on the success of the first workshop held at IEEE BigData 2017, the session will bring together researchers and industry practitioners from the USA, Europe, and worldwide to discuss the current state-of-the-art in the field, to identify best practice that can be shared across transport modes, and to prioritise topics for research and development in the sector going forwards.

Oct 26, 2018 (FINAL DEADLINE EXTENSION): Submission due date for full workshop papers

Oct 29, 2018: Completion of paper review

Nov 1, 2018: Notification of paper acceptance to authors

Nov 20, 2018: Camera-ready of accepted papers

Dec 10-13, 2018: Conference dates (the workshop will take place on the afternoon of the 10th)

The global transport industry is increasingly data rich. Despite this, the application of big data techniques to the sector is still in its infancy, with many providers still struggling to understand their data assets and how they can be leveraged to support their operational and business objectives.
